We Built a Sunroom on Our 200 Year Old Stone House | Window Reveal

This week feels like a huge milestone here at The Irish Homestead, our sunroom windows are finally in!

We first started making plans for this sunroom back in 2024, but with an entire 200-year-old Irish cottage to renovate first, it had to wait. This spring we were finally able to start building it, and after months of work, and a rather long wait for the windows, we’re finally getting to see the room we’ve imagined for so long taking shape.

There’s still plenty to do before it’s finished, but getting the windows in has completely transformed it and, for the first time, it really feels like a room rather than a building site.

Elsewhere on the homestead, Sam turns his attention to our old stone barn and starts making the traditional timber windows himself. Toby and Tilly are due a little medicine (which is always fun with two donkeys! 😂), and we also have some brilliant news to celebrate!

It’s one of those weeks where several things we’ve been working towards for a long time finally seem to be coming together.

Thank you, as always, for following along with our journey renovating our old Irish cottage and building a life here in rural Ireland. ❤️
