Let’s build a mountain road! Welcome to the first episode of a brand-new cabin build series! And we are starting from scratch.
Building an off grid cabin in the mountains can sometimes mean “difficult access.” That’s the case with this property, that sits 3 miles away from Red Moose Ranch. In this video, after trimming up a fir tree that stands in the way, I use my 28 HP Kubota with a loader and a blade to make a road to the new cabin site. I move boulders bigger than I should… for a solid roadbed on a steep slope, and push all the dirt necessary to safely get construction materials at least close to the new site.
