The day commences amidst a gloomy, overcast sky; rhythmic rainfall descends as distant thunder echoes. The filmmaker traverses 250 meters—the full expanse of the garden—to reach the homestead of Ayub and Fatemeh.
Ayub, 48, and Fatemeh, 42, are a devoted couple residing in a rustic mountain hut nestled within an agricultural garden in Lordegan County, Chaharmahal Bakhtiari Province, Iran. Witness Fatima as she diligently tends to their livelihood, performing daily chores and feeding the chickens and chicks. Amidst her labor, Fatima weaves, finding deep contentment in her life.
While Fatima is occupied with her tasks, her husband Ayub returns. An artisan who works in a bakery alongside his own part-time pursuits, Ayub arrives to share a quiet moment of tea with his wife. During this time, Fatima focuses on weaving her craft. Following a painstaking investment of time, she finally completes this masterpiece.
This creation transforms their dwelling and honors their nomadic heritage—a tradition spanning centuries. Connected as a singular, striking piece within the home, it embodies the elegance of nomadic life. Upon completing this beautiful work, the couple shares a meal, cherishing their family bond.
